I wanted to rearrange the widgets for mozey.wordpress.com. Then i saw a little drop down menu that has only one option, “sidebar”. Customizing the dashboard was promised, and believe coming very soon. It will look something like his.

For the past few months, I have been working on an app which gives you more freedom in creating your Lulz. Well, it’s finally done. Meet ClipMann, the official ambassador of the clip people.

You will be able to:

1. Upload your own images
2. Stamp your uploads with a watermark customized to your website (name/colors/fonts)
3. Submit your images to be included in the community (which could be approved or not)
4. Chose from a HUGE array of funky fonts (South Park, Star Wars, Family Guy, Buffy the VS, and MANY more)
5. Choose between SERIOUS community images selection, divided by categories (Cats, CatsNDogs, Politics, People, Tech, Random, Monsters, Robots)
6. Create more than one lol at the same time
7. Animate your concurrent lols as an animated gif
8. Combine your concurrent lols as a comic strip

The following is an illustration of the type of lulz you can create. You have the normal comic strip look, with custom colors/fonts/backgrounds.

There is also the option of an animated gif that has been created by the same frames.

I just read a post that i related to, ALOT, (by “Ethan Vizitei”) and here are few thoughts about it.

Code IS art!

We can debate that all we want, but for this post i’m going to just run with this assumption.

Now!, lets imagine Joe as a Businessmann with a clever idea and ALL he wanted to get it done is the custom work of some big time artist (as in, drawing). So he goes and he contracts out the biggest shot out there (HippiLoui), and pays him an arm and a leg for it. And he gets his custom art work exactly as Joe expected. Joe is happy, and VERY rich, and hippieLoui Just made some cash from his work.

This works and its all good, BUT, one statement that will remain true.

“Hippieloui would have produced MUCH more impressive pieces of work had he NOT been constrained by joe’s businesses rules”

This analogy works MUCH the same for programming. OF COURSE!, i’m not saying that outputting the counter of an infinite for loop with different colors is a good idea! HOWEVER, ALOT amazing pieces of work (killer apps) are programmer’s original pieces of art.
