Thats right people, it seems that drphil.com is under heavy development of somekind of a social network platform. Which is GOOD, good idea!, and i tell you, i do NOT have a myspace account, but once this thing is up and running. I’m in.
EITHERWAYS, naturally, Dr.phil must be a user of his own system!. and fair enough, i found his profile. And i guess because this is in its early development stages. He never got around uploading his picture, 🙂 i took a snap shot of it just incase he does add his picture later!. In which case, it would make this post seem really silly.

PLEASE VISIT HIS WEBSITE, IT IS COOL, HIP, AND YES, EVERYONE CAN USE SOME DR. PHIL

As of today, April 10th, around noonish GMT. There are 851,462 wordpress blogs. Meaning, we need 148,538 more blogs to reach the 1 MILLION blog mark. In this post i will attempt to do a half a55ed stab to guess as to when this will take place.
Blog creation and deletion per day against time should be the two variables we need, both could be found here. Naturally, i’m going to base my estimate based on today’s graphs:
Now, i’m too lazy to actually work out best fit line and estimate the way the function grows and then integrate it with somewhat of a sharp confidence intervals, SO i’m just going to draw how i THINK these graphs will look like in the future, get some average points on times that i picked out of a hat!, and i get this:
OKAY, doing a little bit of math and we’ll get our answer.
Days left for 1 million blog mark = average number of sign-ups a day – average number of deletion a day / 148538
Dayts left for 1 million blog mark is = 148538 / (3963 – 280) = 40 days (after rounding down from 40.331)
Which means that on may 10th of 2007, wordpress.com’s blog count will be one MILLION blog
I CANNOT START describing how horried the math that i just did is!, some of you are thanking your dear lord that i’m not doing this for living 🙂 BUT COMMON, there is’nt much to do around the office today, and i was reminiscing about first year math!.

When i was in the 12th grade, i had NO IDEA what i was going to study in university. Knowing that i can play a MEAN guitar, i wanted to study jazz. But the family talked me out of it. Weather or not that was a good call!, i donno. But Computer Science & math did’nt seem like such a boring subject to me so i went for it.
I remember the FIRST day of my university. I told myself that i was going to build SOMETHING computer sciency to do with music. Then i forgot about this dream altogether. Now, nearly 8 years later. I’m coming sooo close, i can smell it 🙂

A new web 2.0 service break.com is lauched and STRONG. It has been getting serious traffic since late 2006 (so says alexa).
Break.com is a collaborative video sharing website, unlike youtube however, break will pay you $2000 dollars if your video made it to the front page and will also pay you $25 if your video is archived.
I can see what they are attempting to do. To be a bit more selective than youtube in keeping their videos. And also encourage serious video authors to upload their stuff.
I think that unless break.com finds its niche, it wont be around for much longer. Aside from that, paying 2000 dollars per video is better spent on SERIOUS IT development of a NEW web application!
What do you guys think?

THATS RIGHT, i cant believe how much of an invation of privacy this is. sat-gps-locate.com is an online application in beta which will TELL you the location of a cellphone holder based on thier phone number.
IT is in beta right now, so i guess it would’nt be accurate, worked for my example tho!.

I was surprised to find out that godaddy is offering .info domains for 99 cents!. There does’nt seem to be any strings attached or anything. No mimial order of any kind. I think those top level domains might not be doing as good as originally anticipated. I wonder what is going on!.
Even with the low prices, i dont wanna own any .info domains. NO ONE EVER wants them, and SEO based on domain names is not the cool thing any more. (correct me if i’m wrong!, so I HAVE NOTICED, correct me if i’m wrong!)
